We had bad luck with seeds last year, so we decided to go with seedlings this year. We hit a couple of organic farmer markets in the past few weeks and here we have watermelons, brussell sprouts, and 4 different types of sweet peppers. The two in the back left I DID sprout from seeds, they are sunflowers :)
These are baby watermelons (So cute!) and I thought the variety of leaf shape was very interesting!
I should be picking up tomato seedlings from my Grandfather this weekend :)

Cupcake Cuteness!
Joe and I picked up a couple of cupcakes from our favorite Pastry shop, Wally's :)
They were so adorable, Hello Kitty with her Prince Frog, we didn't want to cut them in half to share them with each other.
Alas, they were so yummy, we had to sacrifice cuteness for the nibbles.
At least they get to live on together in our tummies :)

Bargin Plants, Future Gardens, Harvest Time
We hit Lowes over the weekend and got some amazing clearance plants. The three on the top were only $1.50 each, and the two huge ones below with Taco for scale were $3.50 each, so for $10 we got a whole bunch of awesome houseplants to reduce our sadness with our garden finishing up for the season.
And here's our two little Eggplants, dwarfs compared to the eggplant my Grandfather grew (from the SAME seedlings!) and down right tiny compared to my Aunt Diane's Yellow Squash. I guess there's always next year!
Fall is in the air, I'm looking forward to it and I hope you do too!
